Pao Pao Beach Club – Rosario Islands Day Trip from Cartagena
Where Nature and the Caribbean Meet — Pao Pao Beach Club, Rosario Islands
Pao Pao Beach Club is one of the most nature-forward beach experiences in the Rosario Islands — a place where mangroves, crystal-clear water, and sea birds are as much a part of the day as the sun lounger and the Caribbean lunch. Located inside the Rosario Islands National Natural Park, Pao Pao offers a calmer, more connected alternative to the high-energy clubs in the archipelago.
This is the right choice for travelers who want to snorkel in protected reefs, explore mangrove areas by kayak, and experience the Rosario Islands the way they were meant to be experienced — slowly, with intention, surrounded by nature.
- Natural setting inside the Rosario Islands National Natural Park — mangroves, sea birds, coral reefs
- Crystal-clear Caribbean water ideal for snorkeling — some of the best reef access in the archipelago
- Quieter and more nature-forward than the social beach clubs
- Kayaking through mangrove areas — a unique experience not available at most other clubs
- Attentive service and organized day from arrival to return
- Part of the same group as Bora Bora — quality infrastructure with a completely different energy
- Round-trip speedboat transportation — La Bodeguita Pier, Cartagena
- Reserved sun lounger on arrival
- Welcome cocktail on arrival
- Caribbean lunch with beverage
- Full beach and pool access
- Snorkeling access in protected reef areas
- Kayak access for mangrove exploration
- Travel insurance on board
- National Park dock fee: COP 31,500 per person (~USD 8) — paid in cash at the pier
- Maritime insurance: COP 8,800 per person (~USD 2) — paid in cash at the pier
- Extra drinks or food beyond included lunch
- Snorkeling gear rental (available on-site)
- Towels — bring your own or rent on-site
- Hotel-to-pier transfer (available as add-on — contact us)
Times are approximate and may vary due to weather and sea conditions.
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Bring beach shoes — the reef areas and some shoreline sections have coral
- Bring cash for the mandatory dock fees — ATM at pier is unreliable
- Sunscreen SPF 50+ strongly recommended — Caribbean sun is intense
- Snorkeling gear available for rent on-site if you don't bring your own
- Sea conditions can vary — mild choppiness on the crossing is normal May–November

Top 3 Islands Tour
Visit Pao Pao, Islabela, and Bora Bora in a single day — the best way to see three different island atmospheres.
- Full payment required at time of booking
- Free cancellation or rescheduling up to 72 hours before departure
- No refund for cancellations within 72 hours of departure
- Tour cancelled due to unsafe sea conditions — full refund issued
- Secure checkout — Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal accepted
If snorkeling is the main reason you're going, arrive early and head straight to the reef area before the midday sun reduces underwater visibility. The mangrove kayak tour is worth doing in the morning when the water is calmer and the birds are most active. Pao Pao is also the first stop on the Top 3 Islands Tour — if you want to see more of the archipelago in one day, that's the route to take.
